In June 2013, we bought a canal front home that I like to call our waterfront cottage on Galveston Bay. The home was built in the mid 1980s and was the previous owner’s vacation home which was rarely used. Overall, the house is in great condition but needed updating. BAD! Our updates are what I call “lipstick makeovers”. We have not and will not do major demolition, change layouts or remove/move walls. Only removing old appliances, tubs, countertops, etc. Everything we have done and have planned is updating or replacing what was previously there with minimum floor plan change. The only thing we have not DIYed is the flooring (installed when we first bought the home while we built our fence), some electrical work and some shower plumbing.
1303 Sq Ft, 3 Bed, 2 Bath, Open floor plan, Laundry closet, In-home elevator. The entire living area is on the second floor so the first floor is all garage/shop space and covered outdoor spaces (back porch and side porch/walkway). We also have a dock and boat lift.
